Gagged

Been feeling a little weird about writing lately.

I have a lot to say. A lot on my mind. And I feel gagged.

It wants to come pouring out. I am so full of feeling. I want to laugh and shout and, alternately, cry and complain.

But I can't.
Least ways, not here.

This has always been my place where I could say what I wanted to say. Where I could recapture my love of writing because I could write about what I want to write about.

Alas, the love of the social networking has foiled me. It's all sunshine and puppies until someone gets hurt. And then it's not fun because I feel watched and criticized. Used to be that this was the place I could write easily, not caring how good or bad it was because it didn't matter. It was MINE.

Am I complaining? Yes, I'm complaining that I am not strong enough to continue writing anyway, regardless of who is watching. I'm complaining that I care too much what people think and that I let it curb my creativity, my expression. That I let it censor me. Weak.

My reco is that you write away and remove the comments for a bit. If people are going to give their opinions anonymously, then who needs them. If they want to express how they feel about what you write they should email you and stand behind what they say instead of being cowards.

I TOTALLY AGREE! Well said, Kat!
Cath, you don't owe anyone a damn thing. If they don't like it, then they don't have to look at it.

i'm going to agree with the others here.

write what you want. its your life.

also, if people choose to make an uninformed comment on your blog, well, they are just that, uninformed.

You are all nothing more than cheerleaders. I'm sad if Cathy considers anything said in these comments to be something resembling good council.

I'm also very disturbed that being asked to show a little class and consideration for someone other than yourself on a public forum is deemed censorship. You seem to mistakenly have the idea that your blog has to date been a hard hitting segment of the net and that you're being asked to soften it up.

On the bright side, perhaps this so called censorship will allow your friends a break from your petty whining.

Now maybe you could start writing something that reaches beyond self obsessed intellectualism.

Saddest of all is that there are people who are clearly too vacuous or ignorant to see through your little martyrdom routine.

Whoa! Let's relax a little. Too much passion. Let's not name-call please.

I'm sorry, look at the picture and it's title, that you used in this blog. Where do you get the audacity to then try to characterize someone's response as too strong.

I think your post set the bar fairly high on unnecessary dramatics.

You really would be happy to have blogger put in:
