I love Toronto in the summer.

The Toronto Jazz Festival, Canada Festivities at Harbourfront Centre, Dream in High Park, the upcoming Fringe Festival and Beaches Jazz festival and Toronto Street Festival... there's just always so much to do!

And if there's one thing I love, it's doing stuff!

This weekend I'm off to Stratford to see As You Like It. So excited!
I've finally moved my web hosting server, as I've been meaning to do for a while. And my Blog works again, so have a look for some of the past posts you might have missed.

Tonight was our last night of "spring season" volleyball. It was fun, even though we didn't win anything. We're putting together a team for summer season, but it won't be the same without Nolan and Martin there. Boo hoo!

Let me tell ya, the long weekend can't come TOO soon!

Wow, am I ever irritated today.

Finally found a doctor who will do my annual exam. So I get there, and it's totally dodgy. It's dirty and the people aren't very nice. It's like it's in someone's house. Weird.

And I'm tired out of my brain.
Alex calls and I bitch at him.

I realized there was something wrong with me, so I decided to go for my first bike ride in Toronto! I did a trial run of my ride to work and I know the route I'll take. I'm going to try it for real tomorrow. How exciting!

Problems posting

It seems that Blogger is not posting my posts. So I'm emailing one in to see if it works. I have an email in with their support staff to try to figure out why it SAYS that my posts are up, but they're not.

Be patient with me.

There's such a good feeling about leaving work on time. Especially when you came in late.

It feels like you've only just arrived, you do the most high-priority things and then suddenly it's time to go home.

Magic.

Rogers was responsible for my delay this morning. I finally have internet access, I suppose. AND I have high-speed access for the price of Lite access (I love getting deals). But they have me a 3-hour window for installation and came at exactly the last minute.

I suppose I could be upset about this. However, I should remember that this forced me to be home for 3 hours with nothing much to do. Which meant that I finally hung my art on my walls. YAY ME! And I gave myself a pedicure and wrote a list of to-do's and even read a couple chapters of my book.

I'd say it was a pretty productive morning afterall!

The ongoing saga of Logan Movers can be reviewed at CityRat's website.

Not a whole lot else to report except that I have written to consumer advocates Silverman Helps and GoldHawk. I haven't heard anything from them yet, but I'm sure they have many complaints to deal with.

Also, the phone number I had for Logan Movers is now just some guy's cell phone. Maybe it always was.

Protect yourself from fraudsters by reading my comments on CityRat's blog on Logan Movers.

I'm having some post-vacation blues.

I've been living, looking forward to my trips. And now, I have no more trips to look forward to. And then I started thinking: what DO I have to look forward to?

Work tomorrow? Where I get to work far too many hours, endure far too much stress and criticism, with too few rewards?

Well, at least I'm working towards two possible goals (travel and owning a home) by working and saving money.

Perhaps I will learn to follow the realization from the book I read on my vacation, The Watch that ends the night: the purpose of life is life itself. Every day is a gift to be enjoyed.
11 hours of sleep later, I am refreshed.

Laundry in the washer. Laundry in the dryer.
Email clogging the inbox. Stupid TV on the box. Chinese food in the fridge. Red Rose tea in my belly.

It's a good day.

Holland in review:

2 weeks with my mom in the Netherlands had the potential to be a Bad Idea. However, thanks to the wonderful people we stayed with and who helped and enterained us along the way, it was GREAT.

I'm catching up on some email (ie: deleting the crap).
I'm doing laundry so I have something to wear again.
I'm having lots of hugging with Alex as he really missed me (OK, I admit to missing him too!)
I'm kind of enjoying the warm weather, except that it's a little TOO warm. Who ordered the humidity, anyway?
I'm battling some jet lag... 6:14pm and I'm feeling like a zombie. I think I'll go for a walk.
